โœˆ๏ธ Flights โ€” Saigon to Kuala Lumpur, and Home โ‚น11,887

This was the final leg of a longer Southeast Asia trip. I flew Saigon (SGN) โ†’ Kuala Lumpur (KUL) on AirAsia for โ‚น2,384, then Kuala Lumpur โ†’ Kochi (COK) on Malindo Air for โ‚น9,503 to head home. If you're planning a Malaysia-only trip, direct flights from most major Indian cities to KUL on AirAsia or IndiGo are usually cheap and frequent.

๐Ÿ›‚ Malaysia Visa for Indians โ€” 2026 Update FREE (up to Dec 2026)

โœ… Good news for 2026 travelers: Malaysia is visa-free for Indian passport holders, extended until December 31, 2026, for stays up to 30 days. This exemption started in December 2023. When I visited in November 2022, this policy didn't exist yet, so I applied for an eVisa (โ‚น5,745) โ€” you don't need to do this anymore.

๐Ÿœ Food โ€” Jalan Alor & Around Petronas Under RM15/dish

Jalan Alor is KL's most famous street food strip โ€” packed with stalls every evening. I spent one night eating my way down the street, and had lunch near Petronas the next day.

๐ŸŽก Attractions Free โ€” no tourist traps

With only 2 nights, I kept it simple and free. No paid attractions felt necessary โ€” Kuala Lumpur's biggest icon costs nothing to see.

Iconic, free to view and photograph from KLCC Park. The light-up at night is stunning.
FREE

Free to walk and soak in the atmosphere โ€” the food is the main event.

๐Ÿ’ฑ Forex โ€” Where to Exchange Outside the city
๐Ÿ’ก

Skip city-centre exchange counters โ€” I got better rates at money changers slightly outside the main tourist areas. Compare a couple of counters before exchanging, and avoid the airport entirely for the worst rates.
